Technicians and installers who want booked work
This site books garage door jobs across the Austin area and hands them to independent technicians. Here is what we look for and how to get in touch.
Austin Garage Door Tech takes the calls and sends the work out; it does not employ anyone on the tools. The technicians who get jobs from us run their own trucks across Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Leander, Dripping Springs and Bastrop, and most of them hire their own helpers. So there are two ways in: as an independent technician or installer who wants booked appointments, or as someone looking for a seat in one of those trucks.
What gets a technician on the list
- A safety record you are willing to talk about, especially around torsion springs and cables.
- A van or truck of your own, stocked with the springs, cables, rollers and opener parts the common doors in this metro take.
- The habit of stating the price on the driveway before any work starts, and sticking to it.
- Your own insurance certificate, ready to show a homeowner who asks, because they will.
- Knowing the rules as they are: no Texas licence exists for this trade, an opener-only install needs no DPS licence unless it is tied to an alarm or an entry log, and a new hard-wired outlet goes to a licensed electrician.
- Turning up inside the window you gave, and leaving the garage cleaner than you found it.
What the trucks look for in a helper
- Someone who can diagnose a door by lifting it, swap springs and cables without shortcuts, and set an opener's force and travel properly.
- For installers, measuring an opening correctly and hanging an insulated steel door square and balanced.
- Reliable transport, your own hand tools, and a clean safety history.
Getting in touch
Pick a subject line
Email hello@austingaragedoortech.com with the subject "Technician" if you run your own truck or "Helper" if you are looking for crew work.
Say where and what
A few lines on your experience, the towns you can reach, and for technicians the name of your business and a copy of your insurance certificate.
Leave a number
Give the phone you actually answer. A call to (737) 265-6723 works just as well as an email if you would rather talk first.
Expect a callback, not a bill
Applying costs nothing, and it never will. Anyone asking you for money to be added to a list is not us.
